| My first
contact with pulps wasn't by reading them, but by looking at their covers! In the 1970s I picked up a book by Brian Aldiss called 'Science Fiction Art', which showed a lot of the more exotic covers... It wasn't until a few years later when I ordered through my local library a collection of some of the best pulp stories - I found myself being impressed with the tales of Operator 5. Shortly thereafter some more Doc Savage compilations were being released by Bantam Books which I picked up and read avidly. To be honest, since then I've not had much of an opportunity to catch up again with the world of pulps... |

| Although not directly related to pulps,
this site may be of interest: it has over 100 pages,
looks at the characters, creators and storylines involved in the series
which was created by Will Eisner in 1940. The site also includes
downloadable versions of cat yronwode's famours Spirit Checklist, which has
been updated to include more recent reprints and the new stories that have
appeared of The Spirit over the years. The site has been active from one host or another since 1998, making it one of the oldest websites I have maintained regularly. |
